Diversifying Other People's Bookshelves

A Reader's Respite is no longer diversifying just our own shelves. We are branching out. Expanding. Franchising, even. We're going big time, baby.

Bermudaonion's Weblog has fallen under our evil spell and is purchasing books with odd titles for no apparent reason. Oh sure, today Kathy is posting innocent book reviews....but go ahead and ask her what her most recent book purchase was.

Go ahead. I dare you.

Our next step: Complete World Domination.

  2. I totally want to get this too. . .Yay for random titles. . . Do you know I once bought a book called Do Lemmings Commit Suicide? just for the title. . . I did read some of it, but it's a research study on Lemmings and well not as interesting as the title could have predicted. But alas I love random titles that make you wonder what is inside.

  3. I wanted to own this book the minute I saw the title. Is that wrong? I suppose it is, given the number of books I already own.

  6. I checked this book out of the library late in 2007, but I apparently didn't finish it (because I didn't review it).

If you're favoring weird titles, might I suggest Where Is the Mango Princess? by Cathy Crimmins?

A book I have on my shelf that I picked up for the weird title: A God-Shaped Hole. I'll get around to reading it one of these days.

  10. When you attain world domination (which I initially read as "complete WORD domination), will we all speak like the titles of these books - disjointed, random phrases strung together and marketed to the masses? Just checking, cuz I'm halfway there already :)

I'm heading over to see what Kathy has added to her shelf.
