WTF Wednesday

Today's WTF Wednesday is all about impediments to reading. A Reader's Respite has discovered a few important barriers to reading a good book this morning.....

#1. Die-cast toy cars shoved down a toilet causing it to clog and overflow all over the bathroom. If you don't have small children this one shouldn't be a problem for you. If you do have small children, we would suggest locking them out of all bathrooms until they are 15.

do NOT allow anyone to give your child these satan-inspired pieces of metal they mislabel "toys"

oh sure, it looks clean now, but an hour ago this room looked like Armageddon struck

#2. Broom heads that insidiously unwind themselves as you're sweeping until they fall off into your nice little dirt pile, scattering it everywhere and causing you to start all over from scratch.

piece of cr*p

Our answer to this problem?

also works well on children if you don't mind fielding a few questions from Child Protective Services

#3. Laundry. Seriously, what goes on around this joint? Are people changing outfits 3 times each day just for kicks?

dirty clothes breed when you're not looking

All A Reader's Respite wanted to do today is curl up with a good book. WTF?

  1. No, no, no, your loved ones are not changing three times a day. The clothes breed, like naughty little rabbits, when you turn your back on them.

  2. I was wondering about that - I swear for only 3 people in my house we go through a crap load of laundry! And, hey - I don't wanna hear you complaining about those kids - I offered to take Cate off your hands and am still waiting for the FedEx package =)

BTW - your bathroom and washer/dryer are THE COOLEST! I am definitely moving in with you!

  3. Sounds more like a day that needs a good book AND a glass of wine. Speaking of things in toilets remind me to tell you the story of Misfit the kittycat who drowns her toy mice in water - including the toilet.

  4. I know all about the toilet thing! When my boys were 3 and 4, they put something down it (in my case, I have no idea what toy it was...never saw it again!) and it kept clogging and overflowing for days. Not fun!

And the laundry thing...there may not be anything I hate more. Oh, wait a minute...I hate all home related chores!

Try to forget it about it and read, girl!

  5. Amy - oh my gosh, let me just tell you: do not EVER, EVER shell out the big bucks for those colored LG washer and dryers. They are impossible to balance (this we find out after paying the service guy $100 to come out and tell us that) and are so DAMNED noisy it drives you crazy.

And that's the toilet that has a propensity to overflow.

So now you know how looks are deceiving and you probably really don't want to live here, LOL.

ps....Cate came back return to sender. Should I try again?

  7. Love this post! Also, from what I can see in the photos, love your decor! Wish I could see more of your bathroom, I like the look of it :)

  8. Locking them out of the bathroom until they're 15 isn't nearly long enough. ESPECIALLY if you have boys!!!

  12. Oh that is just awesome. Kind of glad to hear that chaos sometimes reigns in other people's homes as well as ours.

  13. try to remember, these will be a lot funnier as you tell their girl friends about them in later years! o, and don't talk to your mom about or end up asking it you were ever like that. you might not like the answer.

  14. ROTFLMAO! Love it! You need a good book, wine & chocolates ;).

  15. Oh I remember when my little brother used to flush stuff down the toilet. I think what backed ours up once was when he flushed a flashlight.

    Love your bathroom!

  16. I don't envy your overflowing toilet (you're lucky none of those cars were left on the floor to slip on!), or broken broom ... but the washer/dryer look divine (sad, that I covet your machines; sorry to hear they don't live up to the hype)

  17. Well.. I daresay I recognize 2 of those cars. That official Disney Cars one has the little toy track thing that goes off in the middle of the night and EVERYONE is sleeping. I am thankful that I am the only one who seems to hear it.

The freaking laundry is an issue here as well. So I told my daughter don't put CLEAN clothes in the hamper! (A Frequent Changer that she is).. so that if I am not paying attention she will soon have ONLY DIRTY CLOTHES folded up neatly and hung up in the closet.. grr...
