How to Avoid Huge Ships, by Captain John. W. Trimmer
This one could come in handy someday.
Although A Reader's Respite cannot help but notice that there apparently is no mention of how to avoid merely large ships. We suspect those could do as much damage to us as huge ships.
Perhaps we'll have to wait for the sequel.
Admit it. You're intrigued.
The sequel? "How to Avoid Humongous! Ships"
ReplyDeleteSherry - is Cat Yoga a real book??? Cause if so, we need to add it to the shelves around here! :)
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean we should expect "How to How to Keep Flying When You Hit a Flock of Geese from Captain Sully sometime soon?
ReplyDeleteWho's the target audience for this one? Whales, dolphins?
ReplyDeleteThere truly is a book about anything you would want for, or not! Now a book about Cat Yoga...I might invest in something like that. My cats do it, so they have obviously read the book. This is obviously why they are always in their zen state.
ReplyDeleteRebecca - I certainly hope not. Particularly since it was his co-pilot doing the flying at the time.
ReplyDeleteAmy - sea otters. ;)
Sandy - look for the cat yoga book to be posted soon. I love the cover of it!
Stay out of the water? Wait, that's to avoid sharks!
ReplyDeleteAnd you know, a little boat can still do a lot of damage if you don't stay out of it's way!
How do you find these books?
ReplyDeleteMichele, it's real!
ReplyDeleteCat Yoga: Fitness and Flexibility for the Modern Feline
I love the warrior pose on the cover. When I do this pose, my cat will sometimes give me a little bite on the top of my foot. And, then he gets a time out. Great fun.
That is so funny! As for the cat yoga, the very first yoga book my husband and I owned was called "Yoga For Bears." It had illustrations of a cute bear trying (not very successfully) to do yoga.
ReplyDeleteI saw a person doing dog massage on TV. I guess if your dog has a very stressful life...that's sort of like cat yoga.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I can see where this would be an important book in every library...lol! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteDid anyone check out the Amazon page? Specifically the "customers who bought this also bought" list? I'm sure you'll find more must-haves for the bookshelf.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a really short book. A single page that says: "Go the other direction." :)
ReplyDeletelol...Maybe just stay out of it's path? Just a thought. Will be looking forward to the cat yoga...my kitties will be in for a treat!
ReplyDeleteFrom someone who was scared to death while sitting on a pier once at which time a HUGE SHIP snuck up on me, I can say this is probably a helpful book to have on the shelves!
ReplyDeleteMichele, you are the bright spark of my day. I am so glad I came across your blog. I am throwing a little love your way...

Uggghhh - this sounds like the most boring book ever.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I now have visions of sea otters, dolphins and whales reading this book...too cute!
ReplyDeleteI admit.
ReplyDeleteThat's damn intriguing.
I have already ordered the thing, on amazon!
I plan to be reading it as soon as I finish this book on 18th Century bestiality, written by legendary author, Claude N. Lovingitt.
I would have commented sooner, but I was out avoiding monstrous ships. It's amazing how you can be out in the ocean and not notice a ship until it's practically on top of you! But I tapped into my Midwest roots and treated said ship as if it were a tornado: I swam at a 90-degree angle to the ship's path. And I've lived to tell the story.
ReplyDeleteThis woulda totally come in handy that one summer on the jetski where we almost got run down by a huge ship... scerrry!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally intrigued. . . I can't wait to add it to my list and read it :)
ReplyDeleteThis merited a *second* edition?
ReplyDeleteI love it when you 'diversify' your shelves! How do these get past an editor?
ReplyDeleteI think with a title like that, it would be quite difficult not to be intrigued. I am curious, though, as to how this will diversify your bookshelves. What if it's placed alongside the perhaps less Amazon-approved "Icebergs Speak Out: What Really Happened to the Titanic"?
