...and In With the New

Yes, the holiday season is rapidly approaching and it's time to start thinking about gifts. So this year, why not join all of us in giving books, books, and more books to your friends and family? Get ideas and join in the fun at Books for the Holidays. And look for A Reader's Respite Holiday Bookish Gift Guide debuting this week.

Speaking of buying books, please consider supporting First Book by heading over to Bookstack and pledging to buy books for kids! Here's the link to Dawn's page where you can donate.

For those fans of In the Land of Invisible Women, author Qanta Ahmed is available to answer any questions you might have over at LibraryThing. She'll be participating in Author Chat until November 21st.

  1. I'm having trouble with the book gift guide. As I don't keep books, it's hard to figure out what to recommend people buy for others. Or even for me. :-) I look forward to your list!

  3. thanks for posting about the author chat! I am in the middle of her book so this is motivation for me to finish so I can ask her questions! It is taking me forever to read it. I can't understand why, it is such a good book. This will be the first time I have been able to contact an author I have read so I am excited.

  4. This is going to be a good chat. (I can't ever think of good questions, so I rely on the rest of you to come up with them!)

  5. Hi Michele - I wanted to let you and your readers know that a few months ago I set up a "special" donation page for bloggers over at First Book, as part of the fundraising efforts I'm making for them.

I thought it would be great to see the impact we can make as a group.
